Financial Aid
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if you are a U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizens. By completing the FAFSA, you are applying for federal and state student financial aid, such as the California College Promise Grant (CCPG), grants, student loans, and work-study.
- Use NVC School Code: 001247
- Create a FSA ID if this is your first time completing the FAFSA
- Select the appropriate application year (e.g., if applying for aid for Fall 2024/Spring 2025, select the 2024-2025 year)
- You will receive a FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) from the U.S. Department of Education (ED) approximately 1-3 weeks after submitting your FAFSA
- You will receive an email from NVC Financial Aid Office in your NVC Student email instructing you to log in to MyNVC Financial Aid, after the College receives your ISIR form ED.
- Log in to MyNVC Financial Aid to check your financial aid status and submit any required
documents to the Financial Aid Office.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must apply or renew your financial aid each academic year. Financial aid is not continued automatically from one year to the next. The FAFSA is available beginning October 1 of each year. The 2025-2026 FAFSA will not be available until December 1, 2024.
Complete the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) if you are undocumented students, DACA recipients, U Visa holders, students with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and who meet AB540 requirements to apply for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) and state financial aid.

- Follow the on-sceen directions provided and to complete and submit your CADAA
- You will receive an email from the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) after your CADAA has been processed
- You will receive an email from NVC Finanancial Aid Office in your NVC Student Email instructing you to log in to MyNVC Financial Aid, after the College receives your Cal-ISIR (CSAC)
- Log-in to MyNVC Financial Aid to check your status and submit any required documents to the Financial Aid Office

2024-2025 FAFSA and Processing Updates
If you need to make corrections to your 2024-2025 FAFSA (e.g. add missing signature, provide consent, change answer to Direct Unsubsidized Loan Only, etc.), students and contributors are now able to make corrections to their 2024-2025 FAFSA at studentaid.gov. Here are the steps from the Department of Education to make corrections.
The Financial Aid Office offers a variety of aid programs, including grants, loans, scholarships, and work study opportunities for students who are having a difficult time meeting the cost of attending Napa Valley College. Any student who is having financial difficulties is urged to apply for financial assistance by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the California Dream Act Application for AB540 eligible Dreamers. Our friendly staff are here to assist you with the application process and to help you understand the types of assistance that may be available to you. Don't disqualify yourself! If you think you need financial aid, apply for it.
If you and/or your family have special circumstances such as significant loss of income or expenses that may affect your financial aid eligibility; or you are a dependent student who has unusual circumstances as to why you cannot provide parental information on the FAFSA, please contact the Financial Aid Office to inquire about the process to file a special circumstances for an Income Adjustment or unusual circumstances for Dependency Override.
