Ethnic Studies
The mission of the Ethnic Studies (ETHS) Department is to equip students with the tools to critically examine the interplay between artistic, philosophical, historical, political, religious, and cultural issues as factors influencing humanity and the spectrum of human expression.
The ETHS Department strives toward building and strengthening students’ understanding of cultures within and outside of the United States. Students will also have an understanding and appreciation of the contributions and perspectives of prominent women and men, including those from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, sexuality, disability, and religious backgrounds.
