Wine Country Regional Simulation Center

Vision Statement

“The Wine Country Regional Simulation Center exists to pioneer a premier and unique 21st Century learning environment that is sensitive to demands for student access, worker competency, lifelong learning needs, and the capacity to enhance patient care and reduce associated risks.”

WCRSC began as just one of the 14 objectives of the grant-funded Center for Nursing Expansion and Innovation to address the national nursing shortage which was reaching a critical level.  Napa Valley College and Solano Community College proposed a unique partnership, which included local hospitals and the Solano County Workforce Investment Board.  Together, the partners designed a Center for Nursing Expansion and Innovation, Associate Degree Nursing Program work plan that included detailed steps to expand the capacity of the nursing programs by 190 students.

By the time the grant ended high fidelity simulation had become an important part of the student training for many of the Health Occupations programs and the Simulation Center continued.

Initially we were located at the Holderman Hospital at the Veteran's Home in Yountville.  In the spring of 2019 planning began to relocate WCRSC to the Napa Valley main campus. Over the summer of 2019 the move was completed and we are now located in Room 812 of the 800 Building.

In our new location WCRSC has 4 patient rooms and 8 high fidelity mannequins (4 adult, 2 pediatric and 2 infant).
