Bio
I am a graduate of University of California, Berkeley in Philosophy, and a Master of Social Work from San Jose State University. Over the last 18 years I have worked in various medical settings including UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, Marin County General Hospital as a psychiatric social worker. In 2013 I completed a Doctorate in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University. I have extensive training in the Biodyne Model, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I specialize in behavioral medicine, addictions, and crisis interventions. I have expertise in multicultural counseling, speak Spanish, and am bicultural. In addition to working in medical settings and private practice, I am a professor at Napa Valley College’s Counseling Department and a lecturer at San Jose State’s University College of Social Work.
