CalWORKs - California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids
CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) is a statewide public assistance program that provides cash aid and services to eligible families that have a child or children in their household.
Napa Valley College CalWORKs Program
The CalWORKs Program at Napa Valley College helps parenting students with children under 18 years old pursue their educational and occupational goals while meeting county guidelines and requirements.
Program Benefits

- CalWORKs Work Study
- Educational Grant (if funds are available)
- Child Care Referral
- Workshops
- Special Events
- Referral to on-campus and off-campus supportive services
Eligibility
- Receiving CalWORKs services from the County Health and Human Services Agency
- Be enrolled in a class NVC.
Intake Appointment
To join the NVC CalWORKs Program, please complete the following steps:
- Complete Steps 1-3 of the 5 Steps to Enroll.
- Request a verification of benefits (CalWORKs)
- Download a verification of benefits from https://benefitscal.com/ or
- Request a verification from your County Worker
- Complete a CalWORKs Application/Intake Form.
- Schedule an appointment with the CalWORKs Counselor by clicking the "Book an Appointment" on the side bar or by calling 707-256-7301.
- Bring the following documents with you to the appointment:
- Current verification of CalWORKs
- Copy of your county Welfare-to-Work plan (if completed)
- County Worker contact information
