Today’s Verdict in the Chauvin Trial

George Floyd’s death, and the circumstances surrounding it, affected us all and I hope that today’s verdict in the Derek Chauvin murder trial brings some relief that justice has been served. As your superintendent/president, I want every Black and African American student, staff and faculty to know that I stand by your side today, and every day.

Board Meeting: April 2021

At the April 8 Board of Trustees meeting, the board adopted a resolution in support of four classified employees on the occasion of their 15 years of employment with the college. The Board also approved the name for the student campus housing project and received presentations on the State of the College, Guided Pathways, planning efforts for summer and fall, and more.

Reflecting to Serve: What We Gain in our DEI Journey

There is a silver lining to the challenges we faced in 2020. Our response clearly affirmed that our system is full of bold and compassionate leaders who do whatever it takes to put students first. In the wake of a once-in-a-lifetime global pandemic and a national uprising for racial justice, we took action commensurate with the urgency of the moment. Our faculty and staff helped lead the COVID-19 recovery and responded to the needs of our surrounding communities during an unimaginable crisis.

Napa Valley College Participates in Financial Literacy Pilot Program

Robin Darcangelo and Chris Farmer have created a partnership with the California Community College Chancellor’s Office to participate in a pilot program to bring financial literacy to Napa Valley College. NVC’s HSI grant, Caminos al Éxito, is supporting the initiative to train staff and students to support student success and retention through the delivery of useful budgeting and credit-focused financial literacy.

What Were You Wearing Student Survivor Clothing Exhibit on View at Napa Valley College

In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month this April, the Napa Valley College SAVE Taskforce and NEWS Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse Services bring to campus “What Were You Wearing?” Student Survivor Clothing Exhibit. The exhibit is on view in Napa Valley College’s Student Activity Center.
