Celebrating Our Newly-Tenured Faculty

At the September 10, 2020 Board of Trustees meeting, the Board honored six faculty members who successfully completed their evaluation in spring 2020 and have achieved tenured status as of fall 2020. Bob Van Der Velde, Senior Dean, Arts & Sciences; Bob Harris, Senior Dean, Health & Safety; Howard Willis, Senior Dean, Counseling Services and Student Success; and Charlie Monahan, Associate Dean, Economic and Workforce Development introduced the faculty. Congratulations to Dr. Josh Hanson, Stan Hitchcock, Molly Hodgins, Katie Ratliff, Andrea Ruybal and Hope Scott.

Napa Valley College Celebrates National #HSIWeek!

As a federally-designated Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), Napa Valley College is proud to celebrate our students’ achievements and honored to help them reach and exceed their goals. More than 45 percent of the college’s student population identifies as Hispanic/Latinx, and nearly 47 percent are the first in their family to attend college. In our 12th year as an HSI, we are excited to celebrate our students, faculty, staff and alumni.

At the September 10 Board of Trustees meeting, the Board unanimously approved the contract for Dr. W. Alan Dixon, Sr. to join Napa Valley College as interim senior dean, career education, workplace and academic pathways, effective October 1, 2020.

Welcome to the 2020-2021 Members of the Puente Project

Welcome to the 2020-2021 members of the Puente Project at Napa Valley College. Open to all students, the Puente Project is an academic preparation program with a mission to increase the number of educationally disadvantaged students who enroll in four-year colleges, earn college degrees, and return to the community as mentors and leaders for future generations.

In conjunction with the recent Napa Valley College community forum, surveys, and college stakeholder discussions, representatives of the Napa Valley College Board of Trustees (NVC) and designated members of the St. Helena City Council, and their respective administrators held meetings to evaluate opportunities for strategic collaboration.
