Reflecting to Serve: What We Gain in our DEI Journey

There is a silver lining to the challenges we faced in 2020. Our response clearly affirmed that our system is full of bold and compassionate leaders who do whatever it takes to put students first. In the wake of a once-in-a-lifetime global pandemic and a national uprising for racial justice, we took action commensurate with the urgency of the moment. Our faculty and staff helped lead the COVID-19 recovery and responded to the needs of our surrounding communities during an unimaginable crisis.

Napa Valley College Participates in Financial Literacy Pilot Program

Robin Darcangelo and Chris Farmer have created a partnership with the California Community College Chancellor’s Office to participate in a pilot program to bring financial literacy to Napa Valley College. NVC’s HSI grant, Caminos al Éxito, is supporting the initiative to train staff and students to support student success and retention through the delivery of useful budgeting and credit-focused financial literacy.

What Were You Wearing Student Survivor Clothing Exhibit on View at Napa Valley College

In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month this April, the Napa Valley College SAVE Taskforce and NEWS Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse Services bring to campus “What Were You Wearing?” Student Survivor Clothing Exhibit. The exhibit is on view in Napa Valley College’s Student Activity Center.

Like others, I have been shocked and saddened by the attacks we are seeing against our Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities throughout the country.

Board Meeting: March 2021

At the March 11 Board of Trustees meeting, the board approved an agreement with Development Cubed Software, Inc. (AKA Marching Order) for a Hybrid Commencement Ceremony in May 2021. The Board also approved an agreement with Kutak Rock LLP to prepare ground lease, coordination agreement and other legal documents necessary to begin construction of the Campus Housing project in fall 2021.
