Standing in Support of our AAPI Staff and Students
Dear Colleagues,
Like others, I have been shocked and saddened by the attacks we are seeing against our Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities throughout the country.
Sadly, violence against Asian Americans has been on the rise since the start of Covid, and recent events have created even more outrage and fear.
This hate affects us all, but events such as the Atlanta shooting on Tuesday night, are a true threat of life for our AAPI community.
The responsibility falls on all of us to voice our support for the AAPI community. In this time of increasing anti-Asian violence, please let your Asian American colleagues and students know that you are disheartened by recent incidents and ask what you can do to help during this stressful time. And if you experience or witness an act of bias, please seek help.

During times like this, I am so aware of our Napa Valley College and cooperation I witness when our administrators, faculty, staff and students come together to listen to each other and acknowledge the part we each play in sharing words of equity and hope.
All my best,
Dr. Ron Kraft
