Napa Valley College Celebrates National HSI Week September 13-19

Napa Valley College, along with Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) across the country are being recognized this week by President Biden, during National Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week, before the start of LatinX Heritage Month being celebrated September 15-October 15.

Celebrating Our Newly-Tenured Faculty Fall 2021

At the September 9, 2021 Board of Trustees meeting, the Board honored nine faculty members who successfully completed their evaluation in spring 2021 and have achieved tenured status as of fall 2021. Dr. Doug Marriott, senior dean, career education & workforce development; Bob Van Der Velde, senior dean, arts & sciences; Bob Harris, senior dean, health & safety; Dr. Alejandro Guerrero, interim senior dean, counseling services and student success, introduced the faculty. Congratulations to Nicole Carrier, Tyler Downie, Ricardo Guzman, Jaime Huston-Sylvester, May Jong, Ida Logan, Eric Martinez, Claudette Shatto and Lauren Winczewski.

NVC Grad Inspires New NVC Students at Convocation

For as long as she could remember, Monique Rivera had always worked hard to be a great student, including during her time at Napa Valley College (NVC). But her trajectory toward excellence was not a given: as a young woman from a family rife with conflict, she found herself in her teenage years working hard without the recognition she desperately wanted.

Storm staff introduce four fab freshmen

Maizy Armstrong-Brown, Amaree Bennett, Alliyah Fernandez and Jaylen Susbilla-Madriaga are among the newest players to commit to Napa Valley. They add to the team’s depth and bring experience and all-around talent.

Designing a future at NVC

In 2019, Nicholas Ebeling was drifting. After graduating from Napa High School in 2017, he knew he wanted to continue his education, but had no specific major or goals in mind.
