Tony BaldiniTony Baldini

We join Michael Baldini, our colleague and member of the college Board of Trustees in sorrow for the loss of his father, Tony Baldini. NVC is a college with strong ties to the winemaking and growing community, and Tony was a pioneer of the Napa wine industry, possessing an unusual long-view and vision of this Valley before Napa was "Napa." His work planting and managing the original 500 or so acres for Trefethen Vineyards eventually led to the formation of the Oak Knoll District AVA. The Baldini Family has established the Antonio J. Baldini Family Scholarship to provide an annual award to a deserving student majoring in either Business or Viticulture and Winery Technology. (NV Register Obituary)

Professor of Business Administration, Dave has been an integral part of our college family since he began teaching accounting in 1998. Dave served as an important member of the faculty for seventeen years, including many years of service providing his professional expertise in finance and accounting to the Budget Committee.

"He was always compassionate, non-reactionary, and sincere. He supported people... He was such a force, always remembering to have fun and to enjoy life. I will miss his laughter, his example, his caring, and his support." - D. Chiabotti

Frank HumpertFrank Humpert

The Napa Valley College family mourns the loss of longtime supporter Frank Humpert, who died July 8 at the age of 90. Frank is a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame at the college, where he played football and basketball as a student, in 1946 and 1947. He transferred to UC Berkeley, where he completed his college career. He returned to Napa and worked at the college as an assistant football coach. At the NVC Foundation, he started a scholarship endowment program and served on the Foundation board for more than 20 years. We extend our sympathies to Frank's wife, Analee, three children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

"He has been a model citizen and leader in Napa County and his presence has enriched the lives of everyone in our community." (Congressman Mike Thompson)
