The premise of the Dual Language Literacy Project is to examine the utility of providing resources to students enrolled in low success rate courses in both English and Spanish. It is the hope of the project that students that have Spanish as their primary and/or formative language will show higher levels of engagement, improved comprehension of course material, and ultimately show increased success numbers in the Health Occupations Biology course sequence.

In addition, due to an increasing demand in the state of California for bilingual and dual-literate healthcare professionals, it is a secondary hope of the Dual Language Literacy Project at Napa Valley College to increase the Spanish fluency of all of its students majoring in health occupations fields.

Current Status: Developing Dual-Language Study resources for students to use in and out of the classroom.
