Hello, and welcome to my page...
Hello, my name is Sheree Marcos, and if you have a campus email, or have needed some assistance with the technology on campus you have probably talked with me before. I thought I would take a minute to introduce myself as your IT Helpdesk Technician 1. In this position, I am able to assist faculty, students and staff with their technology needs. I have helped many login to e-mail and Web Advisor for their first time, in addition to helping users change their password once it has expired. I provide first hand technical support over the phone, and in person. I also handle the technology purchases for the college. This includes classroom technology, computer upgrades, software, contracts and much more. I am also staff on the District Technology Committee, and am in charge of making agendas and taking minutes for that. Other tasks are as assigned, however these are my primary tasks.
My love for computers and supporting them started in high school. My instructor and mentor at the time, Jack Gillespie sparked my interest in fixing them. His motto was "I break em', you fix em' " this really stuck with me as the years passed. I graduated from Vallejo High School in 2009, and I came to Napa Valley College soon after. During the fall semester that same year, I was given the opportunity to become a student worker for the IT Department due to my experience in high school. My time as a student worker has taught me a lot, and now I am a full-time employee for the same department. Please feel free to contact me for any technology assistance that you might need, and I will work diligently to see that you are helped in a timely manner.
In my off-time, I am a continuing student here at Napa Valley College, and am graduating in June. I began my journey here at the college during the fall semester of 2009. I am earning my Associate of Science in Business with a Concentration in Computer Studies, and the three certificates that fall under it as well. In addition to degrees and certificates, I will be obtaining all transfer units for both CSU and UC. Later, I plan to earn my Bachelor's and/or Master's degree online.
Other than being interested in work, and school there are other various interests that I have as well. I love music, and supporting local artists. I also love hiking, dancing, camping and laughing. This is only a small portion of interests that I have, and the list grows greater as I experience more in life. I hope you've enjoyed this small introduction, have a great day.
