Hi. My name is John Uboldi. I am a lifelong resident of Napa and currently live less than 2 miles from the Napa Valley College campus. I am a graduate of Napa High School and the University of California at Berkeley. My title here at NVC is Application Support Analyst because my main responsibility is to support the Datatel ERP application which handles all the administrative and accounting needs of the College. My background includes computer programming, business analysis, and software development.
My interest in computers began in 1986 when I first attended the Computer Learning Center in San Francisco where I studied computer programming. In 1987, I attended night school here at NVC where I studied accounting and computer accounting. In 1988, I accepted a position at SBT Accounting Systems in San Rafael and ended up staying there for the next 20 years where I was extensively involved in the support, maintenance, and development of accounting products. I was a specialist in inventory issues, transaction processing, and posting to GL.
I began work at NVC in January of 2012. I am currently certified for SQL Server Databases and SQL Server Business Intelligence. SQL Server is the database used by most accounting products and it is also the database used here at the college by the Datatel ERP application. I spent a lot of my time writing SQL logic which extracts data from our database to generate custom reports used by various departments here at the college. My responsibilities also include troubleshooting problems and handling security issues involving access to the Datatel product.
