Hi, there! My name is Jose Sanchez and I have been working at NVC since 2007. While my primary role is in the campus IT department, I also teach classes at the college. I do use this site for teaching SharePoint content development to our campus community, so please pardon my occasional mess in here.
Within the IT department, I am a Web Applications
Analyst. I learned my trade in Los Angeles, where I worked for 8 years in a variety of positions. I have broad experience in the IT field, with a strong consulting and integration background. My career supporting educational computing needs started at UCLA in the Chemistry department, which eventually led to employment at SSU, and then here at NVC.
Teaching at NVC
While my M.S. degree is in Psychology (specialization in Educational Psychology), I currently teach a martial arts class where students learn Jeet Kune Do. JKD is more of a philosophy, than a martial arts system. In JKD classes we develop combat skills, but the core of JKD is learning to think in ways that promote "flow". Flow is a concept that can be applied across all aspects of our daily lives, enriching our entire human experience. I welcome the chance to share what I have learned on my martial arts journey with all of our students and community members.
