Napa Valley College Performing Arts Presents “All Together Now!” – A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre
Napa Valley College (NVC) Performing Arts presents “All Together Now!” – A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre both live in the NVC Performing Arts Center main theater and simultaneously live streamed on Saturday, November 13 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 14 at 2 p.m.
“All Together Now!” was created by Music Theatre International (MTI) as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and a way to bring theatres together from around the world to perform an exclusive musical revue featuring songs from MTI’s beloved shows while helping theatres raise much needed funds to recover from full shutdowns during the pandemic. Over 3,800 theatre companies around the world will be performing the show on the same weekend in November.
“We are committed to providing access to our productions and so we are presenting this show in person and as a live stream so that audiences can enjoy however they feel comfortable,” said Artistic Director and Theater Arts Professor Jennifer King.
Napa Valley College’s production will feature 15 musical performances including “Pure Imagination” from “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “She Used To Be Mine” from “Waitress,” “Spread the Love Around” from “Sister Act,” “Tomorrow” from “Annie,” “Take A Chance on Me” from “Mamma Mia!,” “Supercalifragilistic” from “Mary Poppins,” “Let It Go” from “Frozen,” and “You Can’t Stop the Beat” from “Hairspray.”
“One of the most exciting things about our production of ‘All Together Now’ is the diversity of this cast.,” said Dr. Christina Howell, music director. “We cast people of different ages, sizes, colors and cultural backgrounds.”
The cast includes NVC students, alumni and community members, including Jayson Adkins, Jonathen Blue, Colleen Clark, Toni Chiappetta, Thomas DeAngelis, Bright Eastman, Meghan Goleno, Andres Manzanero, Tessa Mello, Anthony Munoz, Kharolynn Pasqual-Smith, Felizia Rubio, Vienna Spezza, Billy Stice, Emma Sutherland, Sylvia Vargas and Noelle Waren.
The production is directed and choreographed by Olivia Cowell, NVC Theater Arts adjunct instructor and features musical direction by Dr. Christina Howell, NVC instructor and music coordinator.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the return of live theater at the Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center with a musical revue,” said Olivia Cowell, director and choreographer. “This family-friendly show features some of the most recognizable and well-loved songs from musical theater. It has been an absolute joy to be back on stage with students singing and dancing their hearts out to bring this fun filled revue to Napa audiences and beyond!”
MTI’s President and CEO Drew Cohen stated, “MTI’s All Together Now! is about bringing people back to the theatre, whether as audience members or cast, crew and musicians. The revue features songs from the world’s most iconic musicals, so there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Our goal with this worldwide event is for organizations to provide hope, inspiration and excitement to their communities through the transformative power of musical theatre.
Tickets for “All together Now,” both the in-person performance and the virtual simulcast, are pay-what-you-can, with proceeds supporting future productions. Visit performingartsnapavalley.org.
