WINTER 2015 ENTRANCE TEST DATES SET FOR NAPA VALLEY CRIMINAL JUSTICE
TRAINING CENTER AT NAPA VALLEY COLLEGE
Exam is prerequisite for entering Basic Police Academy program
Napa, Calif. (December 16, 2014) – The entry-level peace officer exam which assesses readiness for Basic Police Academy training will be offered on January 10, 2015, and February 14, 2015, at the Napa Valley Criminal Justice Training Center at Napa Valley College, in the 1000 building of the main campus, 2277 Napa-Vallejo Highway, Napa. Advance registration is highly recommended.
The exam includes the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Entry Level Peace Officer Reading and Writing Test, the results of which are valid qualification to enter any Basic Academy class for up to 12 months. The written test includes high-school level reading comprehension and vocabulary assessments. Applicants for the academy must achieve a t-score of at least 40 to enter the academy.
An entry-level physical agility test specific to applicants entering the Napa Valley Criminal Justice Training Center at Napa Valley College is also included in the entrance exam. This can also be taken on its own for those who’ve already completed the P.O.S.T. written test. The agility test requires applicants to run 1.5 miles within 17 minutes, perform 17 push-ups within one minute, and perform 25 sit-ups within one minute.
