Cristine Vasquez Tapia has been named Executive Assistant to Erik Shearer, the Vice President of Instruction.
Cristine will begin work in her new role on Monday, July 10, Shearer announced. She was hired at NVC in 2008 and has served in various roles within the instructional area, including work as Division Secretary for Business and Computer Studies, Social Sciences, and Science, Math and Engineering.
In 2011, she was hired as a Credit Program Developer (now Curriculum Analyst) in the Scheduling Office, providing oversight for processes including catalog development and curriculum submissions.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Cristine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of the Philippines, and practiced architectural design and heritage conservation until she moved to the United States in 2007.
Prior to working at NVC, she worked as a researcher, project manager, and part-time instructor in college-level and K-8 courses. She is bilingual in English and Tagalog (Filipino).
"Please join me in welcoming Cristine to her new role at NVC," said Shearer.
