set for Nov. 20 at PAC
Music Napa Valley's first fall concert will feature the 40-voice Napa Valley College Chorale, directed by Professor Eve-Anne Wilkes, and the American Canyon High School Chamber Choir, a guest ensemble directed by Jamie Butler.
The concert is set for 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20 in the Performing Arts Center.
The Napa Valley College Chorale will bring American favorites to life on the main stage in English and Spanish, including traditional tunes from North and South America.
Musicians Mark Osten, piano; Glenn Bettencourt, banjo; Gordon Lustig and Adriana Ratsch-Rivera, guitar; and Elaine Herrick, bass will accompany the two choirs.
Through music and poetry, this choral journey will explore the rich culture and history of Americans, including the challenge and struggles of early settlers, adventures of travelers along the Colorado Trail, timeless love songs, and traditional dances, such as the carnavalito of Bolivia and the tango of Argentina.
Tickets ($15/$15/$5) are available at www.musicnapavalley.org, by phone at (707) 256-7500, or at the Box Office one hour prior to the concerts. Discounts apply for students, seniors, and military. All performances take place at the Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center.
