CJT302 - Hate Crimes Investigations

This Hate Crimes Investigations Course is a credit course created by the Napa Valley College Criminal Justice Training Center and is certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. This course is ideal for patrol officers, investigators, and supervisors. Students who complete this course earn one unit of college credit and 24 hours of POST credit.

Hate crimes and bias incidents not only impact the victims directly involved, but they can devastate an entire community. By their nature, hate crimes victimize everyone who belongs to the victim's identity group. These high-profile crimes create significant social interest and concern within a community. The community looks to law enforcement for answers and to ease the fear often created by these crimes.

The online version of this course contains the same material presented in the traditional classroom version. Students will complete exercises, tests, and a project designed to facilitate learning. The course can be completed at a students own pace within the 8 weeks it is scheduled. Students are required to complete and pass ALL course assignments and assessments in order to receive credit.
